Justin Bieber Posts ‘It Gets Better’ Video

the go buzz Justin Bieber Posts It Gets Better Video

Justin Bieber has joined the ranks of stars speaking out against bullying. The 16-year-old American Music Award-winning singer recently spoke to talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres about his own bullying experience, and in an “It Gets Better” clip that debuted on DeGeneres’ site on Monday, he urged his fans to take action if they see someone being bullied.

In the 20-second video, Bieber, wearing a black T-shirt and backward black baseball cap, says, “Hey guys, I’m Justin Bieber. I just wanted to say there’s nothing cool about being a bully. And if you’re getting bullied, make sure to tell someone and, you know, it gets better. And if you’re a bystander, make sure to step in and, you know, help out.”

The clip appeared to have been filmed during Bieber’s appearance on DeGeneres’ show earlier this month, when he discussed his own experiences with bullying.

“Everybody goes through bullying,” he said on the show. “Everybody has, even me. On my YouTube page, there are so many haters. They just say crazy stuff. Like, I’m not mad, I’m 16 and I don’t have chest hair. I’m not angry about it at the moment. That will come. People are like, ‘Look at him, he puts helium in his voice before he sings.’ You just have to laugh at yourself. It’s funny.” His appearance on the show came shortly after he was reportedly bullied while playing laser tag in Canada in October.

Bieber also had a similar message for those who see bullying going on around them. “There are so many bullies. It goes on so much,” he told DeGeneres. “I think that you should … especially if you are a bystander, you definitely should help out because it could be you next.”

In the laser-tag incident last month, a 12-year-old boy allegedly used an anti-gay slur against Bieber after overzealously targeting the “Baby” singer during a heated match.

Bieber joins a long list of stars and politicians who have joined the “It Gets Better” anti-bullying campaign, including President Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Ke$ha, Nicki Minaj, Adam Lambert, Aubrey O’Day, Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington and Katy Perry, who dedicated her “Firework” clip to the campaign.

My Chemical Romance Call Danger Days ‘A Missile Directed At Rock And Roll’

the go buzz My Chemical Romance Call Danger Days A Missile Directed At Rock And Roll

In the four years between The Black Parade and Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys, My Chemical Romance were no strangers to the grandiose statement. It seems that, in every interview they gave, the band found a new way to describe their (then upcoming) album, calling it everything from a “very pure” bit of punk rock to — most famously — “a love letter to rock and roll”.

The end result, of course, was Danger Days, an album that is both of those things (and neither), often at the same time. And yet, it has basically been defined within those parameters. So, looking back on it now, do MCR regret anything they said in the lead-up to the album?

Not really.

“It makes me laugh when I [read it now],” frontman Gerard Way said, smiling.

“Part of the problem was: We tried to define the record before we made the record. And it’s not all our fault,” guitarist Frank Iero added, “because everyone kept asking us, ‘Oh, what’s it going to be?’ And when we said, ‘Oh, we don’t know,’ they’re like, ‘Well, whadaya mean? What’s it going to be? Can you speculate?’ And it’s like, ‘Well, it’s going to be this,’ and when we found out what that is, it changed.”

And that change was, of course, necessary. Both for the band’s survival and the scope of the new album. In retrospect, MCR stand by everything they said about Danger Days, because, really, deep down in its chrome-plated heart, it still is “a love letter” to American rock and roll.

It’s just written from My Chemical Romance’s rather-unique perspective.

“At first, we said, ‘It’s a love letter to rock and roll,’ and we found out that the best way to love rock and roll is to shoot it in the head,” Iero said. “So we made a record that was like a missile directed at rock and roll.

“It just started to change and evolve, and then the band evolved at the same time. And I think that’s the way you have to make a record: in a very organic way.”

Ke$ha Says Rihanna ‘Meant Absolutely No Offense’

the go buzz Ke$ha Kesha Says Rihanna Meant Absolutely No Offense

Pop-star rivalry has been around for years. Whether it was Britney vs. Christina or Mariah vs. Whitney, there’s always been an underlying competition between your favorite female pop singers. But don’t expect any animosity between today’s stars, at least not from Ke$ha.

The wilding-out singer, who’s the latest Complex cover girl, spoke with the magazine about her pop-star peers, including Rihanna, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga.

“I actually think that’s cool,” the singer said of the female stars she’s being compared to. “Out of that group of chicks, I’m the new bitch on the block, so I’m still getting used to being compared to some of the biggest pop stars in the world, but I don’t take any offense to it. That just means people know my records.”

Earlier this year, Ke$ha teamed up with Rihanna for the Barbadian bombshell’s girl-power trek, the Last Girl on Earth Tour. Despite the duo’s pairing, the blogosphere went into a fury when Rihanna recently revealed that she “didn’t want the generic pop record that Ke$ha or Lady Gaga or Katy Perry could do.”

The party-loving pop star admitted that she hadn’t even read the quote, suggesting that the media may have taken Rih’s comments out of context.

“I’m so used to the media flipping my words around that I’m sure she meant absolutely no offense to me or Katy or Gaga,” said the singer. “Rihanna and me are totally cool, we were just on tour together, and I know that she and Katy are good friends. I don’t take any offense because I’m sure it’s bullsh– anyway.”

Based on the garbage-bag ensemble she wore to this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, it seems that Ke$ha could care less about other people’s opinions. “I was trying to look super-hot,” she said. “I like to poke fun at when people make fun of me, because I don’t take myself that seriously. People say I’m ‘garbage chic,’ so I thought I’d take it to the next level and make a garbage bag super f—ing chic — and I succeeded!”

As for now, the singer is focusing on her recently released Cannibal, a companion album to her debut, Animal.

My Chemical Romance Want To Help Rock ‘Get Its Legs Back’

the go buzz My Chemical Romance Want To Help Rock Get Its Legs Back

Much has been made about the path My Chemical Romance took in making Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, a two-year odyssey that saw them record an entire album, scrap it and part ways with drummer Bob Bryar.

But for all the drama that went into Danger Days, MCR frontman Gerard Way can trace the entire album’s genesis back to one single moment: the making of their “Desolation Row” video, which they shot for Zack Snyder’s “Watchmen” film in late 2008.

“In a weird way, yeah, ‘Watchmen’ was [the beginning]. … It’s kind of funny, because [we] had a weird experience with making that video. There’s always early signs,” Way told MTV News on Monday. “I remember somebody in that audience when we were shooting that video saying, ‘Wow, is your new stuff going to sound like this? Because I’ve never been into you guys, but if it sounds like this, I’m into it.’ And I remember kind of thinking — and I should’ve really paid attention to the signs — like, ‘Well, I’m not doing this for you to all of a sudden like us, ’cause we’re kind of playing tough.’

“Like, to me, that would be the ultimate pandering,” he continued. “And I kind of feel like the first attempt at the record, in a strange way, was that. It was like saying, ‘Oh, we can be a straight rock band; we’re not going to irritate you with the way you look anymore, or what we’re saying. We’re not going to challenge any ideas, we’re just going to be so straight … and do what we do great — write great songs — but we’re going to do that so much that we’re no longer a threat. And once we’re no longer a threat, maybe there will be less noise, maybe there will be less opposition.’ So Danger Days was a fight against those feelings.”

And so, Way got busy creating an entire world, retrofitting the “Killjoys” comic book he had been working on as MCR’s newest, most purposeful effort to date. To him, Danger Days isn’t a concept record like Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge or The Black Parade. It’s something deeper, bigger and more important: it’s a rallying cry.

“It’s not a concept record with a story. It’s just a complete allegory. Even the existence of Battery City and these Zones outside of it — they’re very dangerous to live in — Battery City is very safe and clean, and you’re living outside of it just to be free,” he explained. “It’s a complete allegory for the music industry, for the state of music. Rock kind of has to get its legs back and take back a lot of real estate, and I think that’s what Danger Days is trying to do.”

Justin Bieber Calls Lil Twist His ‘Homey’

the go buzz Justin Bieber Calls Lil Twist His Homey

Justin Bieber has been known to dabble in the world of rap. Not only does he perform the rap portion of “Baby” when he sings the song live — since Ludacris isn’t always available to hit the stage with the singer — he even dropped a rap song this fall under the rap pseudonym Shawty Mane in which he raps over Vado and Cam’ron’s “Speaking in Tungs.”

Now fans are waiting for what Bieber and Young Money MC Lil Twist will share with the world on their mixtape, some of which Lil Twist teased might drop very soon. When MTV News caught up with Bieber on Sunday at the American Music Awards, he said he had no further details to share about the collaboration. “I don’t know man,” he said, with a smile on his face. “Lil Twist is my homey and we’re working on stuff for fun.”

Of course, even if the mixtape never sees the light of day, Bieber has plenty of projects already under way, including the releases of My Worlds Acoustic this Friday and his 3-D movie, “Never Say Never,” next year. “I think this is only the beginning,” he said. “There’s so much more to come and I just hope that I have the career that Usher, my mentor, has had.”

It’s a sentiment that Usher shares. “There’s so much more in store for the future, or at least there’s a ton of things we can do and will,” he said. “And with the support of his fans, who will continue to just grow and grow and grow.”

Beyonce Inspired By Michael Jackson, Lauryn Hill For New Album

the go buzz Beyonce Inspired By Michael Jackson Lauryn Hill For New Album

Recently Beyoncé revealed that she wants to make her “own genre of music” for her next album. So when MTV News caught up with the singer at the New York screening of her concert special, “I Am … World Tour,” we asked her to clarify what exactly it is that she’s creating in the studio.

“Well, I wouldn’t say I’m inventing a new genre,” she said. “I’m mixing every type of genre that I love and I’m inspired by every type of genre.”

Beyoncé went on to say that people should throw any preconceived notions about the follow-up to 2008’s I Am … Sasha Fierce out the window. “I’m not in a box,” she said. “It’s not R&B. It’s not typically pop. It’s not rock. It’s just everything I love all mixed together in my own little gumbo of music.”

The singer says that quite a motley crew of musicians have inspired the album. “Definitely Fela Kuti, the Stylistics. How random, right?” she laughed. “So many people … Lauryn Hill, Stevie Wonder, of course, Michael Jackson’s Off the Wall … all of those things I’m kind of mixing together.”

For the album, Beyoncé has been hitting the studio with many of her usual collaborators including Ne-Yo, Sean Garrett and Jim Jonsin. And her mom, Tina Knowles, has given the tracks she’s heard so far her seal of approval, saying, “Of course [I heard it]. It’s amazing. It’s so amazing!”

Tony Parker Wasn’t Surprised By Eva Longoria’s Divorce Filing

the go buzz Tony Parker Wasn’t Surprised By Eva Longoria’s Divorce Filing

Since news of Tony Parker and Eva Longoria’s divorce lit up headlines Wednesday, speculation about the collapse of their union has exploded, fueled by rumors that Parker’s alleged infidelity may have played a part.

On Thursday (November 18), the San Antonio Spurs player released a statement addressing one rumor: that he didn’t know Longoria was going to legally end their marriage.

“Eva and I have been discussing our situation privately,” he said in a statement issued by his rep to People. “I was aware that she would be filing for divorce in Los Angeles.”

Parker also maintained that he had not lawyered up or filed any documents of his own.

“I did not file for divorce in Texas and did not hire divorce attorneys in either Texas or California,” he says. “We plan to continue to keep our discussions of this matter private.”

Longoria and Parker split after seven years together amid whispers that the athlete had been unfaithful. A source told TMZ that the actress is “devastated.”

Despite his personal turmoil, Parker addressed the media before heading out onto the court Wednesday night.

“This is a difficult time right now for me and Eva,” he told reporters before the Spurs’ game against the Chicago Bulls, according to San Antonio news station KENS 5. “Everything else is our private life.”

Parker also added, “I’m getting great support from teammates and coaches. Right now, I just want to concentrate 100 percent on winning basketball games with the Spurs.”

Justin Bieber Injures Knee During Concert

the go buzz Justin Bieber Injures Knee During Concert

Justin Bieber injured his knee during his tour stop in Cleveland on Thursday night. Sources close to the singer described the injury as minor, according to initial reports by TMZ.

Bieber reportedly hurt his knee midway through the show at Cleveland State University’s Wolstein Center, but continued to perform. Gossip Cop reports that the singer said, “I twisted my knee pretty bad.”

A rep for the singer told E! News, “Justin was seen limping onstage last night, however, he finished his set. We are hoping it’s just a bad sprain.”

A rep for the singer had not responded to MTV News’ request for comment at press time. However, a source told E! that shortly after wrapping up the show, he went straight to his tour bus to rest. The singer’s next concert is scheduled for Saturday at the Norfolk Scope Arena.

This isn’t the first time Bieber has injured himself at a show. Last fall, almost a year to the day, the singer injured and broke his foot during a show in London, where he was opening for fellow superstar Taylor Swift at Wembley Arena.

He tweeted about the injury at the time, saying, “In the last song, ‘One Time,’ I tripped over something onstage coming down the ramp and felt my ankle roll in a very bad way. Turns out I fractured my foot and had to finish the song on a broken foot.”

Bieber has not tweeted about his most recent injury.

In better news, Bieber’s new track, “Pray,” hit the Internet on Friday (November 12). The song will be the only new track featured on his latest release, My Worlds Acoustic, out on November 26.

Ke$ha Loses Her Mind On ‘Blow’

the go buzz Kesha Ke$ha Loses Her Mind On ‘Blow’

Ke$ha is ready to party again. The latest track from Cannibal, “Blow,” has hit the Internet, the fourth song from the November 22 EP to do so.

So what do fans get this time around? Well, Ke$ha kicks off the dark, electro track with a big laugh and a command to “party.” Razor-edged synths kick in over a super-thumping beat as the singer and her pals, who happen to be “pretty and sick” and “young and bored,” get ready to dance in a crash pad that has “dirt and glitter” covering the floor.

Ke$ha’s Auto-Tuned yodeling comes over the beat as she proclaims, “This place about to blow,” during the song’s scream-along party-anthem chorus. The song has many of the elements of a Ke$ha tune — carpe diem attitude and grinding beats — but it also shows the darker side of the singer with lyrics like: “We get what we want/ We do what you don’t.” The song’s mantra is pretty much summed up in one of the song’s choice lines: “It’s time to lose your mind and let the crazy out.”

Ke$ha is a maneater on “Cannibal,” empowers her fans on “We R Who We R” and disses a potential lover on the grimy track “Sleazy.”

“This year has been carnivorous and life-changing. I have my rowdy, gorgeous fans to thank for taking me on the ride of a lifetime,” the pop star said in a statement. “My only goal with this record is to keep them dancing. The songs on Cannibal were made to inspire people to ignore any hate or judgment and be themselves unapologetically. It’s the perfect companion to Animal and I hope you guys like it. And if you don’t like it — bite me.”

Fergie Says No Solo Album, For Now

the go buzz Fergie Says No Solo Album, For Now

Fergie has never been shy about stepping out of her role as the leading lady in the Black Eyed Peas to pursue her solo career. Her smash 2006 solo album, The Dutchess, proved that Fergie could rule the charts on her own. But right now, the Dutchess says she’s focused on her work with the group and has no plans to go solo again anytime soon.

“Definitely, in my lifetime, [but] not in the near future, no,” she told reporters at the Glamour Women of The Year Event on Monday in New York City.

Fergie admitted that she has too many other balls to juggle at the moment to find time to work on more of her own music: “We have The Beginning, which is coming out now, so I’m all about Black Eyed Peas right now… and Slash, my inner rock chick coming out in that world. I’ve got my footwear that I’m concentrating on; that’s a big [project].” Fergie appeared on Slash’s solo LP this year, singing on the track “Beautiful Dangerous.”

On the Glamour red carpet, Fergie also dished on The Beginning, due out November 30. “You should expect deeper, a little bit darker electro beats and a little bit more of relationship issues on this one,” she explained. “A lot of funny stuff, as well.”

The group already has given fans a taste of what that means in the form of the album’s first single, the super-techno dance track “The Time (Dirty Bit),” which samples the iconic theme from “Dirty Dancing,” “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life.”

Fergie said the song sums up the group’s current vibe: “I think it’s crazy the way the world works, because ['Dirty Dancing' star] Jennifer Grey is now on ‘Dancing With the Stars,’ and for some reason that song ['(I've Had) The Time of My Life'] kind of meant something to us, because we have had an amazing run.

“I mean, it just keeps going, and it keeps going. And we really feel like we have had the time of our lives together. And that song reminds me of [Grey] and ‘Dirty Dancing’ and that whole time, so it all fit.”

Jessica Simpson Engaged To Eric Johnson

the go buzz Jessica Simpson Engaged To Eric Johnson

Former “Newlyweds” stars, Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson, are heading back down the aisle — although not with each other.

About a week after Simpson’s ex-husband announced his engagement to longtime girlfriend and former MTV “TRL” host Vanessa Minnillo, the singer and mogul’s rep confirmed Sunday (November 14) that she is slated to swap vows with her boyfriend, Eric Johnson.

“Yes, we are excited to confirm that they are engaged!” her rep told People.

Simpson and Johnson, a football player, have been dating since May. The star recently shared her upcoming Thanksgiving plans and revealed she and her athlete fiancé would spend the holiday together.

“We’re all gonna be in New York,” she told People last month. “I’m gonna be on a [Macy's parade] float. It’s not always the best way to spend a Thanksgiving, but it’s a great way to celebrate. So, maybe I’ll just have all families on the float.”

Although rumors have cropped up suggesting Simpson is heartbroken her former hubby is set to tie the knot with Minnillo, the entertainer recently shot down reports that she had issues with Lachey’s engagement.

“I don’t know where all those rumors came from,” Simpson told Ryan Seacrest on Thursday. “My mom actually called me and said that everyone was saying that I was ’saddened.’ I was just in complete shock. I couldn’t be more happy for Nick.”

She maintained the drama between the two has long since passed, and had nothing but positive things to say about Lachey and his lady.

“Our relationship was over a really long time ago, and it would be nice if everyone could move on with us and really just celebrate the love between him and Vanessa,” she said. “I do, and I wish them nothing but the best.”

Miley Cyrus Is Learning ‘Street Fighting’ For ‘So Undercover’

the go buzz miley cyrus

Last week we learned that for her new film “So Undercover,” Miley Cyrus will take on the part of “a tough, street-smart private eye hired by the FBI to go undercover in a college sorority.” And while that description is accurate — and sort of awesome — it also sells the role short.

As Cyrus explained to MTV News backstage at the 2010 Europe Music Awards, her character is a whole lot more than just a private eye.

“She’s basically this chick who grows up as a super tomboy, and she’s an FBI agent and gets thrown into a bunch of girls that she doesn’t understand because she’s been around her dad, who’s been in the FBI his whole life,” Cyrus told us in Madrid. “And basically, by having to go undercover and be someone that she’s not, she kind of finds the person she is, because she realizes she doesn’t have to carry the weight on her shoulder of what her dad was, and she can be her own person.”

And while there’s depth to the role, Cyrus is also the first to admit that there are plenty of other perks that came along with it, namely, access to a trainer who’s in the process of turning her into a badass street fighter, complete with an arsenal of moves that she’d probably love to unleash on a pesky paparazzo or two.

“I’ve been actually doing all kinds of stuff. … I’ve been doing fighting, like learning how to box … mostly like street fighting, so knowing how to, like, if someone comes up from behind you, being able to defend yourself,” she said. “I have a trainer and I have bruises everywhere from, like, kicking the bags. … And I’ve learned how to use guns, which was really scary,” Cyrus admitted. “I cried the first time, I was like, ‘I’m not doing this … can’t do this movie,’ [but] then you get used to it, you get used to the feeling. You get used to, like, dropping, like he’ll like point it at you and you’ve got to drop down real quick and grab your weapon and come back up. It’s been really insane, so, it’s a more fun workout than running on a treadmill.”

Production on “So Undercover” begins in December, which means that, between now and then, Cyrus is only going to get tougher and tougher — and that’s bad news for anyone who’s thinking of crossing her.

“I want to learn how to do most of my own stuff,” she smiled. “Just for normal life, I think every woman should know a little self-defense.”

Consider yourself warned.

Avril Lavigne Explains Album’s Delay In Letter To Fans

On Wednesday (November 10), Avril Lavigne took to her official website to pen an open letter to fans, informing them that she has completed her new album. While the follow-up to 2007’s The Best Damn Thing doesn’t have a confirmed release date, the singer writes about the album and gives some insight as to why it has taken so long to hit shelves, even admitting she finished the project last year.

“I just wanted to fill you guys in. I’m done with my 4th record!” she writes. “Well, actually I have been done for a year and now my record company have finally decided to release it. OMG. How nice! Thanks guys.”

Lavigne acknowledges her absence from the industry, revealing that she has infused herself into many aspects of the album, including writing and production.

“I have been dying to get back out on the road and do what I love the most … PLAY MUSIC,” she continues. “I know you guys have been waiting for a long time … and so have I, but not by choice. I have been sitting with this record for a year now. It’s really special to me. I have produced a couple tracks alone for the first time, written solo, with friends, I have pushed myself and I feel proud.”

While the pop/rock songstress tried her hand as a producer for the first time, she also experienced some other not-so-pleasant first encounters.

“In saying all that, this has been a really difficult record for me to create and to release. Not only is this the most meaningful and special record I have written, it is sincere, honest and close to my heart,” the post continues. “But for the first time I experienced a bunch of bureaucratic BS. People do their best work when they are doing what they want, love and is natural for them, not when you are forcing them to be something that they are not.”

In what sounds like a sideswipe at her record label for holding on the LP, the Canadian singer reminds fans of the message she’s promoted since the start of her career: “From the beginning of my career my message has always been to be yourself and stand up for what you believe in. Follow your heart.”

But the 26-year-old ends on a high note by dishing details on the album’s first single and the other projects on her plate.

“My first single off this record is called: ‘What the Hell,’ ” she reveals. “This song is the least personal song to me off this album. It’s a fun and funny anthem. It has a broad message about personal freedom. It is the most pop track on the record.”

The singer reveals that she is scheduled to shoot a clip for the lead single in two weeks, with a January 2011 release date.

In addition to the album, Lavigne says she’s concentrating on keeping a balance between her personal and professional life. “I have been extremely busy designing [my clothing line] Abbey Dawn and taking the line internationally for the first time, establishing ‘The Avril Lavigne Foundation’ and focusing on my personal happiness and health. Balance!”

While the singer has managed to keep her material from leaking onto the Internet, her 2002 hit single “I’m With You” has been making the blog rounds. Rihanna sampled the ballad for the party anthem “Cheers (Drink to That)” on her new album, Loud.

Justin Bieber Hits 6 Million Twitter Followers

Lady Gaga might have 7 million followers on Twitter, but Justin Bieber is hot on the pop star’s designer heels. He just crossed the 6 million-followers mark on Twitter, thanks to his dedicated fans.

“6 MILLION OF THE GREATEST FANS ON EARTH ON TWITTER!!!! THANK U,” he tweeted after reaching the milestone. “This is crazy…My Hometown only has 30,000 people total! NUTS.”

So how did his rabid fanbase help the pop star reach that mark? With a Twitter trend, obviously. On Tuesday morning (November 9), the hashtag #6millionbeliebers became a top trend on the social-networking site.

Gaga celebrated her own Twitter achievement this past weekend. “HOLY HOOKER 7million little monsters!” Gaga tweeted Saturday. “Thank u for all the amazing messages about BORN THIS WAY. They inspire me and keep me strong.”

This isn’t the first time Gaga and Bieber have faced off in the world of Internet fame. In late October, Gaga reached 1 billion YouTube streams before the pint-size pop star. “We reached 1 Billion views on youtube little monsters!” she tweeted at the time. “If we stick together we can do anything. I dub u kings and queens of youtube! Unite!”

It helps that both artists have a number of YouTube’s all-time most-viewed music clips, with Gaga’s “Bad Romance” piling up 303 million views, “Just Dance” further back at 125 million views, “Alejandro” with 99 million and “Telephone” with 91 million. As for Bieber, his smash “Baby” is the most-watched video ever on YouTube with 380 million views, while his “Never Let You Go” has 99 million and “Never Say Never” 104 million.

Britney Spears To Hit Studio With Max Martin, Dr. Luke This Week

For those wondering what the deal is with Britney Spears’ next album, her manager, Adam Leber, tweeted an update about the princess of pop’s musical endeavors as she works on the follow-up to 2008’s Circus.

“Brit is recording a big big BIG new song on Friday with #MaxMartin & @TheDrLuke. I’m pretty sure it’s a smash!” he wrote. Leber recently said that the album would sound “progressive” and that ”it’ll be a departure from what you’ve heard” in the past.

Dr. Luke retweeted Leber’s message, as well as this update for all the Britney fans out there: “Please continue to wait 4 Britney’s new song!!!!” Luke worked with Spears on her “Circus” track for her last album.

As for Martin, he and Spears have a long history of making music together, having worked on “3,” “… Baby One More Time” and “If U Seek Amy.”

“She’s such an icon, I don’t want to let anyone down,” Dr. Luke recently shared about working with Britney, who is expected to release music sometime in early 2011. “But most importantly, I want to make good music … I’m excited to be co-executive producing with Max Martin, the person who kind of invented Britney, and to make good music. And she’s such an amazing vehicle to getting that music out to a lot of people in every country.”

Spears has also hit the studio with producer Danja, who worked on her song “Gimme More.” He explained, “I’m definitely gonna do my part and try to make it hard-hitting, up-tempo, high-energy. That’s what I think we need and that’s what I’m gonna shoot for.”

Drake Teases Justin Timberlake Collaboration

Justin Timberlake has become the king of the feature, appearing on hit tracks with everyone from T.I. (”Dead and Gone”) and Rihanna (”Rehab”) to Madonna (”4 Minutes”) and Timbaland (”Carry Out”). Now, it seems he’s about to expand his collaboration list with one of the biggest names in the game.

Drake revealed that he and the singer are cooking something up. “One thing that’s in the works — this is exclusive, this is a moment — one thing that I haven’t mentioned to anybody yet but will right now. I’ve always wanted to work with him and it’s in the works right now; me and Justin Timberlake will probably have a song soon,” the rapper teased to RapRadar.com.

While there are no details about the track, Drake did share his feelings about the collaboration. “I’m really excited about that, ’cause I’ve wanted to work with Justin for a long time,” he said. “And we’ve recently talked about it, and I think we’re going to make it happen.”

Drake isn’t a newbie when it comes to cameos either. In his meteoric rise to fame, he’s worked with a number of artists, including Rihanna, Lil Wayne, Eminem, Alicia Keys and Trey Songz, to name a few.

While Timberlake has found his most recent success on the big screen, thanks to “The Social Network,” he did hit the stage last month at the Shriners Hospitals For Children benefit concert, where he performed an acoustic medley of songs, including his “Cry Me a River,” the Bill Withers classic “Ain’t No Sunshine” and a verse from Drake’s “Over.”

As for any solo music from the singer, Timberlake said he’s waiting for the right inspiration to hit him. “You know, music is … music exploration, I find that when it comes up … it comes up like a freight train,” he told MTV News earlier this year. “So when it does, I definitely won’t run from it.”
